Jen's first experience of yoga was when pregnant with her daughter 17 years ago. She continued to practice on and off for many years but  discovered the true benefits of yoga four years ago, when practicing more regularly. She was amazed by the many health benefits and was interested to develop skills to deal with the stresses of everyday life. Jen has been a teacher in a secondary school for pupils with additional support needs for 19 years; the last 9 years, she taught young people with severe and profound needs and has been able to share some strategies to help alleviate tension and relieve stress with her pupils. Having decided to share the benefits of her yoga practice more fully, Jen embarked on the RYT 200 hour course with Merchant City Yoga. Her own practice is based on the Ashtanga method and she enjoys Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga. Jen is taking steps to deepen her practice and further her knowledge by undertaking various workshops, additional training and classes, having recently completed a Kids Yoga Teacher Training. Jen will be running special needs yoga sessions with kids and adults and carers classes for Yogability as well as her own classes.
